About OnPoint
My History
My name is Don Kirby. I am a DJ and owner of OnPoint Entertainment in Union, KY. I have been around music my entire life as a member of bands or DJing events for family and friends. Eventually, referrals led me to DJing anniversaries, birthday parties, graduation parties, dances, and weddings for others outside my immediate circle.
All the events I have participated in have been memorable for one reason or another, but the event that means the most to me is one I volunteer for. Since 2015, I have been the official DJ for the “Night to Shine” (A Prom for People with Special Needs) at Florence United Methodist Church. I share this not to brag, but to illustrate that to me, DJing is about more than playing music, it is about being a part of someone’s moment.

How Am I Different?
Since I am a part-time DJ, I do not participate in hundreds of events every year. As a matter of fact, I limit my event schedule to average no more than 2 per month. I believe this gives me the ability to provide you with more personalized service and attention.

About You
My overriding goal when I partner with you is to plan and create an event that is organized, fun, and unique. To ensure your event goes off without a hitch, we will use an online planning tool to collaborate, plan the detailed schedule, create playlists, and share important documents. In most cases, I will meet with you well before your event at the venue location to walk through the facility, to discuss logistics, and to start planning the event.

About The Music
I am passionate about music and listen to a variety of genres. This gives me the ability to help you plan the perfect event playlist. I have access to a large collection of songs and work with you to ensure that I understand your song preferences and what is on your “must play” list and just as importantly your “do not play” list. I spend many hours preparing the playlist in advance of the event and work closely with you to personalize it.
